Mechtrac 1730/2100/2500/3000

MechTrac might very well be the most flexible and fastest way to increase your productivity. It takes the form of a gantry and can be equipped with A2 welding equipment for SAW or MIG/MAG to create a complete welding station. If the workpiece rotates, other welding methods such as TIG and Plasma can be used, depending on the application and handling equipment. The MechTrac unit is suitable for different types of workpiece that can be covered by a gantry. The gantry offers the opportunity to weld profiles, such as I-, T- or L-beams, columns or tapered beams. MechTrac is available in four versions, depending on the size of the workpiece. The difference is the width of the gantry - 1730 mm, 2100 mm, 2500 mm or 3000 mm between the legs. The length of the legs is the same for all types; 1500 mm from the top of the rail to the inside of the overhead beam. The floor mounted rail can be delivered as standard with a total length of three meters. It can then be extended to match the length of the components. The standard rail is supplied with an end guard which prevents the gantry losing contact with the rail. Other types of rail as A45, A55, A65 or SJ 50 can be used. All MechTrac’s have dual drive and are equipped with four wheels, two on each side. The gantry can support a maximum weight of 220 kg, which corresponds to two A2 welding heads, single or twin wire, complete with automatic joint tracking GMH and the OPC flux recovery unit, for example. The PEK process controller is used with welding equipment, SAW or MIG/MAG. The welding para- meters can be programmed swiftly and accurately. When two welding heads are used, one process controller takes control of one welding head and power source, plus the travel speed of the MechTrac. The other controls the second welding head and power source. To make transport and installation as easy as possible, MechTrac is supplied in component form and can easily be assembled on site.

GMH

The GMH joint tracking controller, together with ESAB servo slides and a sensor unit forms a robust and easy to use joint tracking system for automatic welding.

GMH

The GMH system minimizes repair welding and adjustments after welding thanks so that the arc is always in the optimal position. The general quality will be kept on an even level and the operator does not need to focus on the weld head and its position.

The operator can then keep an eye on the entire installation and contribute to a non-interrupted welding production by adding flux and prepare for changing the wire spool well in advance.

System contents
The welding head is mounted on a motorised double servo slide where the head can be moved up-down and left-right. The sensor is the most vital part in the system which gives information to the control system how to adjust the slides to keep the arc in the optimal position. There are a number of different mechanical sense fingers for different applications. Inductive sensors can also be used.

Operation
The operator uses the joystick to guide the welding head and mechanical sensor finger into correct position. No programming at all is required. The unit is set in track mode and the welding can start.

Curved details can as long as they are within the working range of the servo slides be welded fully automatic with GMH as the guiding tool.

GMH is available in three versions:

With control panel on the front
Suitable for ESAB’s A2 / A6 tractor automats and A2 / A6 beam travelling carriage. Automatic solutions with short distance between welding head and GMH control box and where the operator has a good overview of weld joint and welding head without moving around.

With remote control (no control panel on the front)

Suitable for Column & Booms and large automatic installations with long distance between welding head and GMH control box and when the operator must move around in order to get a good view of the welding joint.

Without control panel and remote control
Suitable for customized solutions where the customer’s own remote control is adapted to the GMH control box.

    SDE-50

The SDE range of drying and storing ovens are large, thermally controlled cabinets designed specifically for welding electrodes. Ideally, a facility should have separate ovens for drying and storing. However with the SDE manual digital thermostat the same oven can be used for both drying and storing. Designed for stationary applications these come with heavy lockable castors to move around then lock in place. Additionally a gas vent safely removes humidity and gases during the heating process.Heavy insulation, rugged industrial design, external surfaces with electrostatic paint coating and heavy lockable castors make these ovens a great investment for long-term easy use.
